So needless to say it's been a very interesting weekend, but not for the reasons most of yall would assume...Friday night went out with friends for 80's night at Longboard's and Saturday was spent packing and getting ready to finally head back out to sea, but the real highlight was a most interesting series of conversations with a new friend.
On another note, I was talking to a friend of mine just a little while ago, and we came up with the PERFECT way to make a shitload of money quickly when we get out of the Navy. Lizel, Gerin, Eric, I think you'll agree on this one.
We were talking about opening a bar.
-Name it "Goose's Roost"
-Open in within a block of the main gates of one of the military bases here in San Diego
-Offer shuttle service to the main gates
-Play "Top Gun" 24-7 on the TV monitors in the bar
-Plaster the walls with Navy/ Marine memorabilia (pictures, plaques, etc)
-Import hot college students from SDSU, UCSD, and USD to work as bartenders and waitresses
-Offer drink specials for anybody with a valid military ID.
-College Night one night a week where anybody with a Student ID drinks free
-Import college girls to come hang out at the bar on the weekends, and tell them all their drinks will be free.
So what do yall think? I figure we can easily recoup our initial investment in the first 6 months if we were to open something like this. Gotta love the predictability of military guys. *evil cackle*
And here I go again, heading back out to sea once again- hopefully some sanity will return to the department now that we're about to start actually doing our job again, but I'm not holding my breath that hard. Good thing we're only out for the week.
