No Wonder I Have Gray Hairs...
May. 5th, 2005 02:23 amSo for the hell of it, I've been keeping track of a few statistics since I came onboard the ship 80 hours ago for preparations for our upcoming inspections and next few underways. In that time I have:
-Drank an average of 2 pots of coffee per day
-Run an average of roughly 2 miles per day (mostly up and down ladders between the 7th deck and the 2nd or 1st deck)
-Slept a total of about 90 minutes (always broken up into catnaps of never more than 15 minutes at a time, grabbed between training sets, drills, and watches, either standing up or sitting up against a switchboard)
-Eaten a total of 4 meals
Wow. Nice to know I still have it, and can keep up with these younger kids who seem to think they're invincible; I'd almost have to say that I am. Just kidding. Hopefully, if all goes well I'll finally get off the ship tomorrow morning sometime for a well- deserved long weekend- I plan to go home and be comatose until it's time to go out and find some shenanigans to get into for Cinco de Mayo!
On another note, you were all right about how I handled the whole Kelly thing- I should have waited longer before I called her back, and no, she hasn't called me back, best as I can tell. That's what I get for breaking one of the cardinal rules, I guess....and I usually know better, but DAMN! was the sex good- except of course, that she'd had enough long before I did. (3 hours really isn't that long, is it?) I'm debating whether or not to try again this weekend, or just wait until next weekend after I get back from being out to sea all next week.
Anyway, off to finally crash into the "comfort" (relatively speaking) of my rack here on the ship for a few hours before morning muster, and hopefully an order from the top to get the hell of the ship. I know my people need it just as bad as I do.
