Overdue Update

It's been a while since I've really had time to update here. It's been a busy last couple of weeks, what with starting the preparations for our deployment next year, getting the ship fixed (as always), and trying to spend time with Samantha. After all, we leave on deployment in roughly 90 days, and if I remember right, we've got a grand total of about 30 days left of that time here in-port. Talk about getting a screw job, and nobody is happy about it, at all. Usually when a carrier is going to deploy, the crew gets about a solid month to prepare to go out- spend time with the family, get the affairs in order, etc. We'll be getting about 2 weeks when we pull in after our last underway inspection in mid December. Then, it's a whopping 10 days of leave (at least I get Christmas) before we're on the schedule for being deployable, probably in early January.

But I'm not pissed off about it at all. Nor is anybody else on the ship.

Ugh. I was going to post something longer here right now, but I really can't think of anything. That, and they're showing Napolean Dynamite on HBO. (Yes, I know I'm easily distracted.) I'll write more later, I think.
