Drunk On Duty
Sep. 24th, 2005 12:53 pmUgh. Nothing like standing duty on a beautiful Saturday with a raging hangover. Chris Ede threw a party at his place again last night- everybody was there, and a good time was had by all. No cops called this time, no drama, no random making-out sessions on the staircases between married people. A good way to relax after a hectic week, and an even better going- away party for my good friend Boo.
It's just a shame that Amy's out of town for the weekend. I sent her a text to let her know I was thinking about her, and tell her I missed her not being there, and an interesting conversation ensued:
T: I wish you were here. Party at my friends house at the beach.
A: I'm jealous!
T: Like I said, I wish you were here, since I'm dating the most beautiful girl in San Diego. How are you? ;)
-pause-
T: That is, we are dating, right?
A: um, yeah, but slowly... this dating thing is new to me, and I'm wanting to be very careful...I hope you understand... (after all, she did date the same guy all 4 years in college)
T: Totally. I really like you, and I want this to last. Just to let you know, I wouldn't have tried to sleep with you if I had come over. (Thursday night, before she flew up to Sacramento. And it's true, I wouldn't have tried anything unless she started something.)
-pause-
T: That sort of thing can wait till you're ready.
A: I'm sure you wouldn't have, but I was exhausted! Good night...sleep well.
T: You too, beautiful. See you Sunday. :)
Hmmm....so that's a good thing, I think. I can't wait to see her tomorrow morning. :) I've just got to try really hard not to screw this one up...
On another note, after Amy went to bed, I got a text from Samantha, starting another conversation:
S: What are you doing tomorrow?
T: Duty. Why...?
S: I could hang out then but I guess you can't Oh well, call me later! Have some fun for me.
T: No problem. How are you?
S: I refuse to answer on the grounds that I might incriminate myself.
T: Had I not met Amy, I'd be on the way over there right now, but...sorry.
S: I know. I wouldn't expect you to anyway...I'll figure something out ;)
T: Talk to you tomorrow.
So yeah. Nice to know that we've got that clear. After all, we are still friends, and she's already been a great source of advice when it comes to Amy.
Anyway, I need to get back to bed...I'm still suffering from last night's indiscretions. More later.
