Sptingtime Observations

So Sunday night we start Daylight Savings Time...I know everybody is complaining about losing an hour of sleep, blah blah blah, but oh well- it means more sunlight, which means more time to go out and enjoy one of the most beautiful times of year in my opinion. For all my friends and me, that means more time to hang at the Island Republic (which opens next weekend), more time for surfin, volleyball, or just general daylight mayhem....Now if only it would hurry up and getwarmer and STAY that way; my summer wardrobe is calling to me from the back of the closet. Cargo shorts, board shorts, aloha shirts, print shirts.... ah, I love this time of year.

On another note, this is reminding me of what I miss from a springtime in Charlotte- azaleas and dogwoods. I know that the dogwood is also the state flower of Virginia ("A dogwood is a tree AND a flower."), but where the hell are they?? This'll be my third summer spent up here, but I have yet to see any in this area.....disappointing. Well, at least the other trees and flowers are starting to bloom.

The last couple of weeks or so it's really started to sink in that I'll be leaving here soon.....I need to get out with my camera and start taking more pictures. I think I'll actually post some in my journal here too in a little bit. I've got tons of really funny ones that I know I don't want to forget.

We have 5 dogwoods on our property ... I think past Hampton, there aren't many as the weather's more fickle on the Southside. Newport News and west is where all the dogwoods are.

Over in NN we have dogwood trees. Infact theres a street near my house called dogwood dr that is lines with the trees. Near the lions bridge if your at all familar with that.

I take it you never got your car back today?

You know i'm into photography, maybe we can go do some photo shooting sometime. I got some cool pix from today, i'll post em later.
