Let the Fun Begin...

Just got word back from my boss- since we missed our monthly goal last month, AND this month, the real fun starts either tomorrow, Saturday, or Monday.
Production Inspection.
The term just sounds painful- and, as bad as ORSE may have been when I was on the ship, that only lasted 3 days, and they went away for another year. Besides that, they were there to test you, not to point fingers. This, however, is going to be a witch-hunt, pure and simple.
And, since I haven't put anybody in this month or last, guess who's going to be first in line to be tied to the stake? Yep, you guessed it. To say I'm looking forward to what's coming would be like saying, "damn, I hope I get herpes". I'm a bit afraid that if these things are as bad as I hear they are, the inspection might be enough of a catalyst to push me over that edge I've felt myself inching towards for the last few weeks.
Let's see, just crunched my numbers for the month of November: 30 appointments set, 19 interviews held, 11 of those (mostly) qualified.
No contracts.
And the best part is, if they do decide to put the torch to the wood pile, I don't think it will be because I'm not good at my job. Instinct, personal experience, and those who have been doing this for a while tell me that it'll be because they've proven 'conclusively' that I don't do my job.
Anybody got any marshmellows?
