Until Proven Otherwise....

I've come to the conclusion that California girls suck. Big time. No offense to those of yall who peruse this journal every now and again who live here, but that's pretty much just how it is, I think. Since I've moved out here, I seem to have made one mistake after another when it comes to the ol' love life. Maybe I'm not meeting the right kinds, maybe I'm expecting too much too soon, I don't know. After all, since I've moved out here, I've only met a couple of ladies that would really meet my wants for what I'd want in a girlfriend. One, well, as her best friend put it (and as I've written about before), her father would pretty much lynch me on sight, and the other one....well, I missed my window of opportunity there, and we could be nothing else than friends now for a lot of reasons I just recently completely figured out. She's cool, and I'd love to hang out with her more, but I know now that the relationship thing could never work out with us. But I really don't want to go into that right now.
But enough bitching. It was an...interesting night- Angel got us in on the VIP list (again) at On Broadway downtown, and I decided to spend the evening trying to get my friends hooked up- with no luck. Southern boys and Cali girls don't mix, I guess. No wonder we usually stick to our own.
On another note, I'd like to give a Happy Birthday shout- out to
bananacranapple, who turned 22 last night (earlier?). Here's to hoping she has a good 22nd year and finds what she's looking for. I know for me, 22 was very....educational, in a lot of ways, starting with the night of my birthday (the stories of Suzie, Ali, and Brooke come to mind). Hopefully she doesn't have to go through all the stress and BS I did that year.
Ugh. Duty on our one full day off for the next month. And nobody would take it, even though I was offering to pay them $300. Everybody is realizing how precious these days off are becoming, and while I really wanted to go to the PB Block Party tomorrow, I can understand.
Off to bed- watch in 6 hours. Good night.
