A Quick Update

They found the car sometime yesterday around noon- I got the message when I got home last night from work. (I've started checking in at NRD San Diego this week) Drove over to the impound lot it's being held at off Rosecrans and found (thankfully!) that my records were intact, but of course the bastards had grabbed all the good stuff- my $400 Pioneer head unit, my Xbox that was still in the trunk, all of my CD's (over 100- this is the 4th time I've had my CD's stolen in the last 4 years), and worst of all, my digital camera that had been in the center console. I had a bunch of pictures from when I was back on the East Coast, including Christopher's 13th birthday.
No word yet on what goodies they grabbed from underneath the hood, but they could've gotten their hands on the almost $2500 I've put into upgrades for the engine. Shit, I hope not. Insurance is sending an inspector out to check her over, and she'll be in the body shop for a few days to fix the big- ass dent the motherfuckers put in the driver's side door.
But, at least I got her back in one piece. First order of business when I get her back in my hands: A MUCH ballsier alarm system than I'd planned on installing originally. Nobody's taking MY baby again, damnit.
More later- it's been a long time, and there's a LOT to tell, after all.
