BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't finished part 2 of why I'm never drinking that much again- apparently when I went to hit "Post" the computer (or the server) crashed on me- which means I'm still re-writing it. And I guess the autosave only works once, too.... damn. It was a beauty, too. :(
Anyway, as most of you all who actually pay attention to my occasional ramblings, rantings, complaining, bitching, and moaning in this journal probably know, I'm kinda enjoying this writing thing, but haven't really given myself the time or attention necessary to really devote to perfecting the craft that I want to turn into a serious pursuit in the future. So with that in mind, here we go:
I've been working on various side projects and little bits and pieces of things here and there, mostly while I was out to sea on deployment this past winter, and I'd been feeling the itch for a while before that. I guess it really hit me over Labor Day weekend that this is something I want to do seriously for a living at some point (it's a good thing I still have a day job). Over the last few weeks, I've been doing a lot of research into online publishing, purchasing domains, and maintaining a constant weblog. (
smirkin, any advice you've got would be VERY helpful in this respect.) In the coming days, I'll be getting the new laptop I ordered last week, and I think I've already come up with a domain I'm considering purchasing. So just wanted to let everybody know- keep your eyes open- I'm going to do this, and I'm going to do it right. Call it the first step in setting myself up for when I get out of the Navy in a couple of years.
Now I just have to make sure I keep myself disciplined enough not to let it fall by the wayside.
